In part of Villon's poem with refrain "Ou sont les neiges d'antan?" he says:

Likewise where is the queen
Who commanded that Buridan
Be thrown in a sack into the Seine?
But where are the snows of yesteryear?

I have been unable to find out what actually happened to Buridan. I should much appreciate some searcher more skilful than I am telling me historical fate of Buridan.

I found a site that seems to corroborate Villon. Queen widow of Phillipe V (if I remember right) used to take lovers, and when she was tired of them literally sack them, into Seine. Allegedly Buridan as a young man suffered this fate, but landed on a barge passing under the bridge, and survived to have notable career.
