I just wanted to inform everyone who posted a suggestion on the decision to (probably) name the store "Plata y Oro". The idea includes using silver ink for Plata and gold ink for Oro. This still needs the agreement of the other partner, but my friend seems firm in his decision. Blowing kisses to all.

Thank you for letting us know! It sounds perfect! Visual and right to the point.
Now where exactly (full address) is the shop ... for those among us who will be travelling!

Right now the store is under construction. The two stores that will be joining, hopefully in October, are at the following addresses: Gerald E Myers Goldsmith (the friend in question), 132 W. South, Kalamazoo, Mi 49007 and The Kalamazoo Silver Store, 132 S. Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, Mi 49007. The new store will be across the street from the Silver Store and this is the downtown district.

Gerald E Myers Goldsmith (the friend in question)

Well, If only I had known the owner's initials were GEM...(and his name anagrams to 'grey emeralds,' but Emerald Grey would sound more professional).

Hey! That's but a short drive from my house. I hope to visit some day. [wishing-for-free-samples emoticon]

Capital Kiwi - maybe you'll be driving by this on your trip between Chi-Town and here. That angle would bring you up by Battle Creek, Breakfast Cereal Capital of the World.

>Battle Creek, Breakfast Cereal Capital of the World

That it may be, but the Mall of America has recently installed a new "attraction" (quotation marks employed to denote my own confusion on the meaning of the term in its context) called General Mills Cereal Adventure. They're advertising a blue streak on the radio, and I'm befuddled as to just what qualities make cereal so adventuresome. [huh?-e]

So move over, Battle Creek - Bloomington, MN wants a piece of the breakfast action.

Fibes is befuddled as to just what qualities make cereal so adventuresome.

Perhaps the adventure of finding out what strange contaminants have been inadvertently added?

General Mills Cereal Adventure

Perhaps it's just one adventure after another - after all, they're breakfast-food makers, not linguists.

Rumor has it that Kelloggs is going to leave its place of origin, namely, Battle Creek. I believe there have already been layoffs. They say that the equipment and the buildings are too old and not cost effective,(code for "we are going to build new factories in the third world so we can save tons of money on payroll") so, Mall of America is looking to capitalize on the tourist yearning to get their picture on a box of Corn Flakes or the Wheaties box, whichever the case may be! I have nieces on a box of Corn Flakes, so don't laugh.(snigger, snigger).
RE:Captain Kiwi--where are you now? I'd love to meet you and the wife, but I'll be out of town until the 4th of July. I'll even be at the Mall of America sometime after my daughter's wedding in St. Paul. I promised my Mom. If this is the time frame and you want to visit Gerald E. Myers (Gerry to his friends), stop in around 5pm and shortly afterward you could end up bending an elbow at the Burdick Bar and Grill.:)

Poor Gerry is waffling a bit. Now he thinks he might like my original suggestion, "Alianza Metalica", better. Shall we put it to a vote? It could help him decide......or not.:>
