before we get the new valentine's day logo, remember last year's?

a big kerfuffle ensued about the "misspelling", with allusions to Barnabe Googe being made!

The strawberry's stem is the L.
Posted By: tsuwm Re: google logos - 02/14/08 12:36 AM
thank you Ron F.

now try telling that to those who scoffed at the very idea.

The strawberry itself is extraneous; the chocolate spill is the g.
Posted By: Zed Re: google logos - 02/14/08 02:19 AM
Of Course, why would you need fruit if you already have chocolate?

The g wasn't in question, but otherwise:

Oh, that Barnabe Googe! The one with the Goo-goo-googey eyes.

Here's this year's.

How do you-all do that? Get just the image of the logo, I mean?

But: I can't see all the letters that are s'posed to be there. I guess the lady's right arm plus the balloon strings are a tilted l; I was thinking the man's back could be the o but I simply cannot see a g after it. The man's back plus down to the bottom of his right leg could be the g, maybe--but in that case where the heck is the o?

Weird image, seems like they are in hurry. Hurricane coming up?
Do they have to represent those characters always?

he's the O, her reflection makes the rest of the G, I suppose.

I think the idea is we all know what it says, anyway, so...

Such a weird thing. He's the O from Old man, she 's the G from
'Good Grace! Let me Go'. The L is from: Let go of those Lousy baLLoons!

No, the strawberry is part of the g, the g-head, if you will. Not something you want to declare around here.

Lettergram.

Emeralds?
Earthquakes?
Espadrilles? ----
Eggplant casserole?
Echos of a song?

Fold your mind, Bransheba, the final "E" completes Google's cutsy little subliminal message, to wit...

OLD GEEZERS LOVE GOOGLE!

But, to wit, I wouldn't know myself.
Posted By: BranShea Re: google logos - 02/15/08 07:03 AM
Well, to wit, I like it.
Posted By: Jackie Re: google logos - 02/15/08 05:58 PM
No, the strawberry is part of the g No no, see, I said that because I want to eat the strawberry! And after that, the chocolate on the "ground" will make the g...though admittedly it looks more like a figure 8!

Right click on the logo; select 'copy image location' from the pull down menu; paste the image location, which is now on your clipboard, into the img tags and Bob and you aunt are man and wife.
Posted By: Jackie Re: google logos - 02/16/08 12:17 AM
{Image deleted--see post below.}

Well--my right-click menu only offers Copy, so I went to Properties and copied the address from there.

Edit: cool--it worked! Thanks! [hug]

however, most websites frown upon the copying of image locations for pasting in other pages, as it ups their bandwidth usage, sometimes considerably.

the etiquettal way to do it is to copy the image to your computer, then ftp it to either a webspace you own or a free image-hosting site.

Oh! Oops--ok; deleted. Thanks!

well, I'm surprised that Fald didn't mention it; unless I'm mistaken, he's usually the one to bring that up.

or maybe it's tsu. but he's the one that linked it in the first place, so...
