I love reading AWAD but I have bad memory so from time to time I forget words that I find fascinating.

However this week it happened something really strange: I used a word I swear I read about in AWAD but for which I can not find any reference at all in anywhere!

The word is "grey bishop" and my memory was that it meant the power behind the power as the role the cardinal Richelieu has in the "Thee Musketeers"

Did I just made that up?

Thanks.

Perhaps éminence grise (French for "grey eminence")? [Wikipedia, accessed 19.vii.2007 20:15 PDT.]

I thank you very much for your help!

don't you hate that feeling of "but I know I've seen it somewhere"
