The verbicide thread reminded me that on a shelf at my local barber’s shop, there’s a bottle that the manufacturer has intriguingly labelled ‘Barbicide’. Ah! The crime of killing barbers! I figured it must be a special poison he uses for finishing off rival cutters. But no, it simply contained a disinfectant to soak combs and scissors in. Shame.

Still, barbicide – sounds like a barbarous crime to me.

I have a friend named Barbara who had problems going in to a barbershop as a child for fear of the very stuff.

Ha! 'Barbie'cide! Now there's a thought.

Barbie'cide
I bet it works like that weed killer, you spray it on and you get taller and taller and thinner and thinner until you collapse under your own weight.
