Here is a translation of Sir Gawaine and the Green Knight, mostly translated,
but with quite a few untranslated words underlined, so that if you can't guess
what they mean, clicking on the underlined word brings up a glossary.

Well, this is the first I've heard of 'hat' meaning 'called'. I like the alliteration of this poem.

Dear Jackie: in all the stories about knights "hight" means "he was named (or called).
