The MASH movie was shown on TV last night. I saw it when it was first released way back when, and Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould were much, much younger than I remembered ... it was still hilarious.

If'n you haven't read Richard Hooker's books (yep, another instance of historical rectitute: The movie came from the book) I'd recommend them for a good laugh ...

I think that's M*A*S*H.

And yes, his books are hilarious. I love the hat trick. But since I don;t drink much and never smoke, I kind of concentrate on getting my hat trick in the middle.

Yah, but what do the asterisks actually stand for? Some guesses:

Mobile Flying Army Korean Surgical Brothel Hospital, or
Mobile Alan Army Alda Surgical Benefit Hospital, or ... well, you get the idea!

Do they have to stand for something? What about Leo Rosten's books about
H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N ?
(Haven't the patience to put in the colors. Crayons worked better.)

Guess what movie I watched last night? Hannibal Lecter was a word-driven man. Now there's a scary thought.

Wow! I didn't know they played cricket on M*A*S*H! Not sure where M*A*S*Hers do theirs, but Cricketers hat-tricks are always in the middle.
