THE LONE STRANGER

He rides in upon a silver horse
Bearing stranger names,
Yet unable to divorce
Sound knowledge from his games.
And cordial "howdydoos"
Are offered cross the boards,
But suspicious of a ruse
The smiles strike wistful chords.
And yet we must extend a hand
'Cause some may still be real,
New assets to our AWADland
To boost our common weal.
But as they vanish and return
For one more short respite,
The loading times increase their burn
To wade through cluttered trite.
So if a mask and silver horse
Is your choice of task today,
Considering jumbling's a cork at our source,
How will you "handle" the words you say?

Hiyo Silver! And awayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!.......

Oh, good one, Sweet WO'N!
Yup, Ah've had mah suspicions about some o' these Johnny-come-lately handles, mahself.

This is not the first comment against individuals signing on under other names, and is in fact the second thread started just for that topic. I personally don't like it, because it makes me feel like a damned fool if I don't catch on, but to me that's not enough reason to condemn the practice. I do love it that we can have fun here. I sure don't have any definitive answer; I guess I'd just like to repeat the concern about not welcoming a true newcomer, and to caution that the practice can cause great inconvenience, for ex. to someone whose pages take ages to load.

Whitman, I really like what you writ, man!

Now or: at this juncture in time or at this point in time or at this pinprick in time, etc., etc., etc..., I am gifted in obtuseness. Is the problem with guised handles that the welcoming in it self occupies useless space?

Hmmm. And as Tonto was reputed to have said just as the Apache hordes were about to attack, "Who's this we, white man?"
