there are a couple of old lexicographer's precepts that go like this: a) be brief, b) keep it simple. these predate online dictionaries, which seemingly have less stringent space requirements, but.

anyway, applying these, and also considering a comment in the voting thread regarding Too Much Information, I arrived, as I mentioned in the event, at the choice of C or H. in fact, I was just about to pull the trigger on H when it struck me that not even the OED uses an obvious Brit. spelling such as "specialised" within their definitions! (sorry, Jackie - too clever by half. : )

-joe (but I couldn't avoid the kibbutz play in my own def'n) friday
___

btw, bex, you didn't mention the source for your True Definition..

Oh sorry! It was from my large Oxford English Dictionary...not very obscure but no-one knew what it was! wink

Here's the War and Peace version of the kibitka + snow
Never knew the thing existed. So a new word for a new object. smile
Thank you.

I knew they existed but not what they were called.

I liked your one Bran, but it was too close to mine, so I thought it an untruth wink

I was persuaded by your background knowledge elifit laugh good first go.

Yeh..

I wonder, but I suppose I will never get the true unthruth about the vocal and physical nature of a nonexisting cardgame.

I cheated played a lot of card games but never for money, so guess I can't help (never took it seriously enough).

I have a mental picture of kibitzers (not to be confused with kibbutzes, which I seem to do) gone out of control.

Haha, I was imaging something like a house on a sled; but this looks like it would be a lot of fun!
Congratulations to eli and tsu on the co-win.

I stand corrected. Thanks.
I don't like February. It's the three months between
January and March.

February's the best!

A) You can really tell the days are getting longer

and

2) Pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training.

February is too short; by the end, you can tell spring is coming. frown

Call me romantic, but I love February because of Valentines Day.

Amazing.
I guess I started a new topic, February. Such a little
month, so many comments.
