Avy, beck123, BranShea, Coffeebean, Jackie, jenny, jenny*, Lukejavan8, olly, Owlbow, some dictionary or other, tsuwm, and wofahulicodoc.
*Each jenny gave her own daffynition. Their votes will be scored separately.
Now what do we do? How do we vote?
just reply to Faldo's post with your guess, by letter. you may also comment, but it's considered bad form to comment in such a way as to unduly influence others; but you many vote for your own daffynition as a bluff - but realize that's been shown to be (usually) a wasted vote, as it won't be counted for you.
also, if you actually know the word, you might consider voting for a well-formed bluff rather than the "right" answer. since the points don't matter.
Either G or M gets my vote. Eeny, meeny... I vote for G!
Yeah, me too, I like M for the sheer audacity of giving a name to a haircut imitating a wig, BUT it seems haarly unlikely that that name would be "haar".
Why did Faldage begin this game with "Haar she blows"? Is he a trickster? Faldo (as tsuwm calls him) is the key.
Don't record my vote yet, I'm still thinking...
Haaaaa....
.. r I had a fit of laughter over this wild collection. Faldage, are you sure you also put in the right one? I'll need some time to analyze this.
I'm a bit foggy myself so I am voting for (E).

"The answer my friend is blowing in the wind." There's a lot of trickiness in here this time.
Say Mister Faldage, (hypothetically speaking), if I vote for Jenny's definition and she votes for mine, will I get one or two points in the Hogwash scoring?
Just curious.
- Jenny
@ f saab : Who wins? One who votes right? One who creates right? Or one who gets most votes?
scoring is at the whim of the hogmasterŠ. but, the points don't matter.
OTOH, if this sort of thing is important to you, read the frakkin' rules.
I did. I didn't fraakin understand them.
You get some number of points for guessing the true definition. You get a certain number of points for every time your daffynition is chosen by someone else. We total up the points at the end and the person getting the most points has the most points.
@jenny jenny: I'm afraid I'm going to have to say that if one of you votes for the other's daffynition nobody gets any points since I don't have any way to tell which of you submitted which daffynition. For a while I thought that it wouldn't make a difference but I'm not sure if that's the case. We'll see what happens if that scenario plays out.
> did. I didn't fraakin understand them.
well, good. you are on even footing with everyone else then.
(see Faldo's definitive points explication, just above.)
Wow! That's terrific! To think I never took part in hogwash all these years because I thought I didn't understand it! Now I do!
jenny votes for A: the rabbit
jenny votes for
J: the herb
B (hi, Luke!)
this is a great bunch of definitions, btw. kudo.
Can't I vote for Bran and Shea? Bran, he's a good voter and Shea, she 's a good voter too. Nah, I very much like the Swedish wig (haha) but me vote is D

I "haar" you, Bran, Luke could have a vote and Javan another.
but one has not reached voting age yet, but the next time around
he will.

(hi, Buff...)
Birds of a feather.....
I think A is the most likely to be correct, but I have to vote for F--it is sheer poetry!
I think A is the most likely to be correct,
Ah... from that same region where they discovered King Kong, I see...
For how long?
Ha, good one Jackie.
I had a mate whose dog was named Deefer.
I don't know, Jackie? You think Faldage got mad and left town?
Are the poles closed?
I don't know about the poles, but the polls usually are open for a sennight. it's only been three days.
patience, girl. patience, girl.
patience, girl. patience, girl. You're not suggesting our Jenny jenny is bipolar
I wouldn't think so, Olly, tsuwn is too much a gentleman to berate the Polish.
Good one Jenny jenny
The polls are still open. All the principals have voted except one. All other votes are welcome. You don't need to have entered to vote.
I take B .
I love F though. I want to dream there.
Great round - many great defs. Thanks
and here I was thinking Faldo meant me as to not voting. oh well.
OK. Now it's one principal. I know you know the right answer, tsuwm. Are you just trying to figure out which one is the best from the wrong answers?
Mister Faldage please tell Mister tsuwm that in Mississippi the sennight will expire today at the stroke of noon.
He may be abiding by an archaic sennight of only sentimental value that has since been shortened by the dire needs of our fast moving world. Thank you.
we're very traditional here -- a se'nnight is just that, seven nights.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to vex a tradition. I'll go knit a sweater.
OK. Now it's one principal. I know you know the right answer, tsuwm. Are you just trying to figure out which one is the best from the wrong answers?
no, it's because I am well and truly stumped. I'm inclined to use Ockham's Razor here (however it's spelt) and/or follow wofa or Alex and vote for K or E. but I still have two(2) days.
(I know, the wig one is even shorter; but I'm not buying anything to do with hair.)
I guess I've grounded my club in the bunker, metaphorically speaking. for some reason I was thinking I'd made my choice and so I LIU. serves me right for lollygagging.

So are you recusing yourself or are you going to vote for the most creative daffynition?
LIU is jargon, developed here as far as I know (AFAIK):
Look(ed) It Up.
It's shortened from YCLIU, You Could Look It Up, quoting the immortal Casey Stengel.
OMG! blisters! GFTO if you caN!!
That's because you'll probably only find it in its expanded form.
I will be posting results later today.
I look on LIU as a back-formation from YCLIU.
oh, here's a nother vote for K, if it's not too late.
Another AWAD acronym I remember is YART. Yet another rehashed topic.
