make up a definition for "underfong", and send it via Private Message to "hogmaster".

Out here in the Plains we ain't got much learnin'.
Thanks for helping me out. 'Preciate it.

you're welcome, but I know that ain't true about the Plains, cuz I'm from there!

Caught again, durn it!

In all actuality, I've only been on the internet for about
2 1/2 years, slow to pick up the computer and the skills.
So I was generalizing when I should have particularized.
And the 'lingo' is way beyond me until explained (sometimes
many times).

>cuz I'm from there!
me too..

but you shouldn't be completely unaware of this game, as there are two spiffy explanations pinned to the top of the Wordplay and games forum!

I remember reading the rules when I joined the forum.
But they are a bit 'overwhelming'. Can they be
simplified?
It's a real word, yes?
No fair looking in a dictionary?
Guess its meaning?
Submit?

I've always had trouble with Tab A into Slot B. sorry.

if it all seems too overwhelming, watch the game unfold this time.

Gotcha, thanks.

Basically, everybody that wants to comes up with a definition and sends it to the hogmaster. The hogmaster eventually posts all the definitions plus the correct one and we all (whether we supplied a definition of not) guesses at what they think is the real definition. And, as you said, no fair peeking.

>what they think is the real definition.

or, since the points don't matter, and if they're so inclined (or if they know the word), what they think is the *best definition.

Right. Now that we've collectively worked our way through half a million tonnes of chocolate eggs it's time to take the hog by whatever hogs have. It's the ugliest word I've ever seen, so results in the past are no guarantee. Never mind.
No need to be clever. More than ever it could be anything.
Posted By: tsuwm Re: hogwash: underfong - 04/06/10 10:39 PM
the hogmaster informs me that the response so far has been underfongwhelming; i.e., two(2!) entries to date. cold-crowdings, as it were. nullibiety.

c'mon, peeps!

This is a very tricky one. But I guess the hogmaster knew that.
Posted By: BranShea Re: hogwash: underfong - 04/07/10 05:29 PM
When I said it was ugly I just meant it is extra difficult. I bet no one can come somewhere near the real definition.
(and that's where the fun is)

today (4/08) marks the sennight; but I won't have time until Saturday anyway to post the entries, of which there are now seven.
