Elizabeth, I didn't get two votes, I only got the one.

The second vote doesn't count since I voted for myself as a bit of a red herring since I already knew the actual definition and I didn't want cheat by voting for it.

Yeah, this one is kinda like the last: more than one legit definition. But I can't complain, since I'm neither smart nor organized enough to even attempt to mistress a hog, and I admire y'all who do.

Good fun all round.

(I first heard of the word in, of course, Darwin's Dangerous Idea by Daniel Dennett - only place I've ever seen it.)

I was just informed of a business trip to Nassua (NH) in April.
As a resident of Florida I look forward to yet another opportunity to get real chowda!!!!

Elizabeth, did you not forget the traditional closing remarks by the Hogmaster?

You know, like thanking all of the participants and bragging on their fine contributions. For example, the posthumous definition by wwh (Doc Bill) who, I think, never won, or even played, a game of Hogwash when he was alive , but who, this time, fooled four people here and got the most votes.

Or,

To give me the chance to prove that me and Pal Al and Tank and Major Hate made up the word "squinch" and it recieved wide currency in the Southeast among bopsters. The word was to be used as a slightly demeaning but hip word for "chick". In this context the word was first used by me on Sept 29 1961 at 3:00 AM in the parking lot of black radio station WJLD while we four were finishing off a case of Drewery Beer.

If you don't believe me [Search AWAD Archives] for "squench" (my spelling) or call Tank at 205-980-8642 in Alabama (you can't call Pal Al as he is in Texas and I don't have his number and Major Hate is still in jail).
