yes, this is hogwash no. 76 (approx.)
You know, I was going to ask but then thought better of it: the great tsuwm never posts a pun gratuitously, unlike some people around here!

That's funny.
If you assign a progressive value to the letters i,r,p,e, and then add them up you get "52".
If you assign a regressive value (example z=1, y=2, x=3, etc.) and add them up you still get "52".

Coincidence? Ha! There is no "coincidence" in Hogwash.

Obviously, Tom Terrfic, this is only Hogwash # 52 and goodbuddy tsuwm is having one of his "approximate" jokes.

boy, howdy -- and I was worried that no one would ask.

Isn't there a listed history of winners available.?. as well as correct, incorrect votes.?. and most importantly - how many times each player has voted for thier own submission?

That would be *helpful.

Yes, that would be wonderful. Perhaps a list in different colours, the most desireable being nearer the top. And perhaps cute titles for different classes of competitors, like "Super Sleuth" or "Word Magus" or "Lexical Demon." Or ....

..and a running total of points for always and ever, and.. and.. a pairing of words to respective hogmasters, and...

well.

I have added a few links to that above (including another to the roolz). if you have a perticular favorite episode, let me know and I'll add a link to it (as with ucalegon).

...(which we weren't until now) I trust you were not meaning to imply, by the title of this thread, that shiny musical instruments (or festive processions) are made of that soft heavy ductile metal that used to be used so freely by plumbers...

Nice recovery, but not quite. I was trying to lead you astray...

(I can be very trying at times)

yeahbut®, why would I have wanted to have led that parade in the past tense when we had yet to have held it??
Posted By: Faldage Re: Speaking of ledes - 10/21/06 09:57 AM
Ya gotta know the territory.
Posted By: themilum Re: Speaking of ledes - 10/21/06 02:22 PM
In the past tense I once wrote a youthful dectective story where the piviotal clue in solving the mystery was a pencil.
I called the story "Lead Lead". But no one got it but me.

Did you know that if you assign numerical value (a=1, b=2, c=3, etc.)
to the word "tsuwm" you get 96 and if you use the word "sen'night" you also get 96?

Jes' saying...

and if you use the word "sen'night" ?

if you use the word se'nnight with an apostrophe (why would you?) you should realize that the portion you're eliding is the 've' of 'seven'.

jes' being pedantic.

Please excuse my lack of erudition. I saw that you had written "se'nnight" and me, being polite, I corrected your apostrophe placement so as not to embarrass you in front of your friends.

I was wrong, and I promise never to correct you again.
Please notice my lack of pedantry in not capitalizing your written remarks above criticizing my kindness .

Which definition you using?

a) trans. to put off until the day after tomorrow, to defer from day to day
b) intr. to stay from day to day, to make an indefinite stay
