Can't reply to your one question, Helen, as I've not read that thread.
I did notice the oe in your word, though; I never have liked that combination very much--it just looks too "foreign"!
Hmm...speaking of micronoetic!

helen, noetic is a fine word that dates to 1653 (M-W). can you point to any evidence for micronoetic? is it a neologism or someone's nonce-word?

edit: I do see some evidence of its use in USENET groups as a general term of disapprobation; also claims there that it ain't a real word. :)
