How would you spell this: "ad hocracy" adhocracy" "..."?

Why am I reading this book? Was it one of you who menitioned "Smart Mobs," recently? I can't remember.

I think I'd catenate it all into one word. Adhocracy works for me.

I think I prefer ad hocracy. Rr could we hyphen it to ad-hocracy?

When it is spelled adhocracy, I think the the 'h' tends to go silent.

But when you spell it ad hocracy it looks like the word is hocracy and you are somehow adding to it. Maybe the hyphen is a good compromise.

With respect, it does look like "hocracy" and you are adding to it ... which is just exactly what is intended.

The play is on the words "ad hoc": two separate words without benefit of hyphenation.

Anyone who doesn't get "ad hocracy", doesn't get "ad hoc", so the play on words is lost on them in any event.

I think I'm with Faldage, "adhocracy," as long as other Latinists are comfortable. Probably less confusing, all in all.

I take it, it wasn't here "Smart Mobs" was mentioned. (Interesting read).

The term has been around much longer than the book so I guess you can ad hoc it anyway you want. [I guess you will anyway. ]
