In the infinite expansion of our language, there arises a term for a male person who is not attracted to members of his own gender but who adopts certain homosexual behaviours in an effort to attract female persons, believed to find such behaviours attractive and perhaps even challenging, in order to allow such females to "convert" him by means of having straight sex with him. Clever devil! Such male persons are referred to (in some quarters) as fauxmosexuals.

Huh! That's a *new one on me.

That's a new one on me.

Me, too, but I am not as hip to changes in pop language as I was when I had my two children living with me. Whatever will I do now to understand the patois of the young?

Isn't this just a restatement of the definition of metrosexual?

That would be a person who has sex with a city?

I still think fauxmosexual is slightly different from metrosexual. I don't think the metrosexual uses deceit to trap unwary females does he?

uses deceit to trap unwary females

I hadn't gotten that connotation of metrosexual. fauxmo seems more of a fake. metros are just into looks.

...and here I thought that most promosexuals would use deceit to trap unwary females--all's fair in lust and unwary females...

so is someone who takes too long to build up the courage to ask someone out, a slow-mosexual?

> a slow-mosexual?

That's awful ~ I love it!

Does it work? Or does it backfire and the wrong conversion take place?

One assumes that this is perspectival.

Yes, 'wrong' here in the sense of unintended

No, a slow-mo-sexual is one who likes to video their lovemaking and then watch the replays over in slow motion.

And is someone who quits having sex a nomosexual? (no mo' said Southren-like, though I don't recall any of the 3 Southren ladies I saw for awhile ever sayin' that).

Posted By: Father Steve Re: fauxmosexual - 10/07/03 06:19 PM
... and one who pauses in the midst to drink an effervescent antacid is a "bromosexual"?

Great word, Father Steve! Never heard it before, but as I ponder, I can say I know a lot of folks in this here liberal town could be labeled as such. But since I don't label people... (much) .... I'll just enjoy the play this word provides.
