Am wondering if anyone can help me define the word psychology? I know the word is composed of two Greek words, namely, psuche = soul and logos = word but to make a statement using these, like say 'psychology is the manifestation in words or behavior or feelings or knowledge of whatever 'word' is activating the soul....be it the inflow from the eyes or ears or ones thinking etc. Would that work or would it be considered a "root fallacy"? IS there a way to define it through the Greek words that comprise its make up?

the only 'fallacy' here is that created by 'sense drift'; i.e., from study of the soul to study of the mind - it is uncertain exactly when/how this happened, but the original sense is marked "Now rare" by the OED.
