yet another mystery word - 04/20/12 02:43 AM
(it's been a while since I posted one of these..)
the worthless word for the day is: paleomnesia
[fr. Gk paleo-, ancient + -mnesia, condition of
memory] a good memory of events of the distant past
an interesting word, but it doesn't seem to have
ever been used for much of anything..
"Not all of Mrs. Byrne's offerings are addlepating
esoteria; some are refreshingly useful, like
paleomnesia, "happy memories from events far in
the past," and euneirophenia, "peace of mind after
a pleasant dream."
- Christi M. Smith, Verbibore's Feast
at best it's an inkhorn term, I guess.
