There is a word for someone who STARTS the applause at a concert – this is usually a person planted in the audience for just that reason, to start the applause. What is the word?????

[sorry]

So sorry, I don't think that is it, but I appreciate the effort! I found this word about 10 years ago in one of those "Word A Day" calendars. Can't remember what the word was.

claqueur

I'd like some of those at my funeral instead of hired mourners.

Oh yes! I'd like to see that. (not that I want you dead, au contraire, but the image, the idea!) laugh Has it ever been done in a movie?

If the clacker thing you speak is the same "clicker" nuns used
in elementary school, yes it's been done, but not at a funeral,
merely to get the students to stand and sit, etc.
I'd not want them at my funeral, tho' preferable to hired
mourners, too many bad experiences with the nunny poos.

Not exactly an applause but certainly a vivid celebration. Oh my!- even when dead that would make me very seasick.

As a brass player, this strikes me as just right.
