Have you ever heard of the word
"faglork"
What language is it and what does it mean?
It's English and it means a cigarette for which they use meticulously shredded larch wood in stead of tobacco.

Its English!
fooled me. yes, as Ts said....would have been great hogwash subject.
Never heard it before but it's my new favorite.
It might could still be a hogwash word. It has a onelook index of zero.
first saw it in a cartoon of Moses parting the Red Sea. Faglork was the Sea talking? responding? burping? don't get why this is supposed to be funny. Thanks for all the posts.
from the Don Martin (MAD magazine artist) Dictionary:
RUMBLE ROR FAGLORK SWOOSH Moses Parts the Red Sea MAD #186, Oct 1976, Page 16
dem other words is big water noises; faglork must be the command Moses gave to part dose waters. huh.

Don't get what is wrong with a funny word, welcome Gray! I wonder how it could be pronounced, Fa-glòrk or fàg-lork or otherwise.

If it's from Don Martin, I would pronounce it
fuh-Glork,'cuz that's what sloshing water sounds like, at least in my washing machine.
Peter
>fuh GLORK
d'oh! < slapping forehead w/palm >
-joe (veeblefetzers Я us) friday
Yeah, that's what I meant; I haven't veeblefetzed in years.
Is that because of all the snow you all have in Alaska??
No, I think it's the rampant pludvorks.
I hope you aren't taxed for them !
Taxed for them?! Don't you know nothin' bout Alaska? They get paid for them.
There are so many things I don't know anything about.
Paid for them???
Wow!
Each fall we get the PFD, the Pludvork Finder's Dole.
Wish I could get in on that.
I know a guy who knows a guy…
Yeah!, Could you.........
Uh, sorry; Guido just took him out.
Dagnab it! I'm always a day late.
None of which we have in the real sense, but we do have plenty
of wannabees - Queen of the Dairy Festivals, Pork King and Queen,
King and Queen of the Prom as well as Homecoming, Miss America
and their ilk, all in tiaras. Etc. Etc.
Believe me, the King of the Prom looks absolutely stunning in his diamond encrusted tiara.
It's delightful, it's delovely, it's DeSoto.
Scary how familiar that is.
Tell 'em Groucho sent ya.
Ah, yes, I well remember that advertisement.
We did it once. We were about 12 IIRC. My friend and I stuck our heads in the door of the Desoto-Plymouth dealership, shouted, "Groucho sent us!", and ran.
I'll bet even the salespersons got a laugh out of it.
Looking back on it from the perspective of some fifty-odd years (and, yes, at least fifty of them were odd) I'd bet either they did or they muttered amongst themselves, "It'd be nice of some kid could come up with something new once in a while."
Still it is a little better, I think, that the prank calls
asking "Do you have Prince Albert in a can?", or "Is your
refrigerator running?"
"Do you live on Main St.? Better move: a truck's coming."
Ah, yes, I'd forgotten that one.
Luke, I gotta feeling that Mike is related to Hugh Jass.
Mike has just Rick rolled us so I thought his name maybe a joke as well.
Hugh
I think you are right olly.......I couldn't fathom the connection before.
(not a bad video though)
Rick was cool back in the day.
Never gonna give, Never gonna give, give you up
Never gonna give, Never gonna give, give you up
That was my first time; how was it for you?
Peter
PS: I never heard of Rick back in the day, probably because I was cool a lot further back. Still am, of course.
Rickrolling is so fifteen minutes ago.
Luke, I gotta feeling that Mike is related to Hugh Jass.
I have to agree Olly. Thanks. I am really slow a lot of the time.
I'll try to be more careful. I just see a new name and
welcome. But as said below we won't be seeing Mike again.

and I'm guessing we won't hear much from our newest member: Mike Hunt...

Hugh The internet trend of "rickrolling" (ie. tricking someone into following a link to Rick Astley's video for the 1987 song "Never Gonna Give You Up") first started in 2007, but grew into a pretty mainstream occurrence throughout 2008. - Film Junk

Not your bad. I was referring to ME: I'm the gullible one.
Ah, come on...It was funny. Simpson's prank call and a Rick Roll!
It's me...GaryGnu...
Ohhhhh its gnuGary. You got us good.
