CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE WORD GROUP, THAT THIS GROUP OF WORDS ARE BELONGING TO ?
ASSESS
BANANA
POTATO
GRAMMAR
DRESSER
REVIVE
UNEVEN

IT IS NOT THE DOUBLE LETTERS, SOME HAVE 6 LETTERS & SOME HAVE 7.
BUT THEY ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH EACH OTHER ?

THEY ARE NOT PALENDROMES

BUT ALMOST,!!
YOU HAVE TO MOVE THE FIRST LETTER TO THE REAR OF THE WORD,& THEN THEY SPELL BACKWARDS, IS THERE A NAME OF THIS GROUP OF WORDS ? AND IS THERE ANYMORE WORDS THAT CAN BE ADDED TO THIS LIST, THANKS

HI, I AM STILL LOOKING FOR THE GROUP NAME OF THESE WORDS,
MY COMPUTER DIED & I LOST EVERYTHING, CAN YOU TELL ME THE WORD GROUP, THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER TOLD ME THEY WERE CALLED EMACS, BUT THAT DIDN'T GOOGLE UP THE ANSWER. CHEERS

"EMACS" is a text editor with a built-in LISP interpreter. (LISP is a programming language.)

"EMACS" was also the acronym for my department name in school - "Engineering Math and Computer Science."

I don't recall ever having seen the term used in any other way.

Have you tried checking with a forum that specializes in puzzles or word games?
Posted By: tsuwm Re: word group name - 04/05/11 03:00 PM
heh. I was still using the emacs editor in a UNIX/Xwindows environment when everybody else was frantically learning 'vi'. they just couldn't get me to change.

AS PER PM.
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER.

I think the 'caps key' must be stuck smirk

mine did that once when I spilled a bottle of coke on the key board. The only way to right it is, to buy a new one. (key board that is..)

NOT ON MY COMPUTER. I PUT THEM THERE BECAUSE IT IS
CONSIDERED YELLING. I THINK IT LOOKS NEAT. I MAY JUST
CONTINUE TO USE IT EVERYWHERE.

1:) oops wrong key. Up arrow.
WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE ALL THE FUN, LUKE? I WANT TO YELL TOO! that felt good.
Posted By: LukeJavan8 Re: word group name - 04/06/11 04:12 PM
GOOD FOR YOU! ! ! !
And who makes these rules anyhow????
I NEVER GOT A BOOK OF RULES OR ROOLZ AS THEY ARE ON THIS
SITE, WHEN I BOUGHT MY COMPUTER.
AND FAR BE IT FOR ME TO KOWTOW TO OTHERS' NOTIONS
JUST BECAUSE THEIR ARROGANCE DICTATES IT.

KEEP IT UP

It's a convention of online netiquette, and going against this sort of convention is rather like singing off-key on purpose. But I'm sure you understand this.
netiquette

I APPRECIATE IT SNOOT,
BUT WHO IS WIKI TO BE THE END-ALL OF ANYTHING?

It's hard to adjust to capitals as no books or papers are written in capitals and they are kind of ugly as a whole block of text. frown
I like the cursives. ( or how do you call them )
Posted By: LukeJavan8 Re: word group name - 04/06/11 10:07 PM
YES, CURSIVES.
Posted By: Faldage Re: word group name - 04/06/11 11:02 PM
You could get put on ignore right quick, Luke.
Posted By: Avy Re: word group name - 04/07/11 12:43 AM
Yaayy Luke!!! keep it going!!! Until you get a sore keyboard!!!
Posted By: Candy Re: word group name - 04/07/11 07:47 AM
SHUT UP Avy.....its too easy for him. Its much harder to hit the 'shift key' to get a capital than it is to use the 'caps lock' all the time!

i vow to not use any capitals until luke desists......

Hmm--perhaps I should try moving this thread somewhere else: the last (and only) time I tried, the thing vanished into the ether, never to be seen again.

Nah, leave it. The point was empathy for someone who
had troubles, something sorely lacking at times by some.
