Yikes!
When we sang the Bloch Sacred Service recently we used adonay but the CD we had used adoshem. Somewhere in there we heard that some will use adonay only in an actual worship service. We sang it on a Sunday in a local temple the day after the official concert and sang it adonay but only after checking to be sure that it was OK. It's a conservative congregation
