How many of you were reminded of Mozart's Requiem first thing after seeing the word?
I wasn't but I have it playing now if that counts.
Yes, my first thought and the context made me think it is much too theatrical a word to use for a simple cry baby.Quite pompous. I tried to comfort my lachrymose sister. Nah...
And how many thought of John Dowland?
Definitely! Isn't that the scene with the pool table, him rolling the ball back and forth? I've sung the entire requiem, and it's an experience, let me tell you! :0)
First Muso I thought of was The big O.
Oprah?
No, Roy Orbison.
Just had a listen to John Dowland playing Lachrimae Pavan, Excellent skills.
Wow! You have a recording of John Dowland (1563-1626) playing anything at all?!
Dowland on Youtube of all sorts and qualities. This Lachrimae Pavan too.

Oh! I heard a rendition of Lachrimae Pavan by Peo Kindgren playing his classical gat.
If it's nice it's nice and if it's nice it's music.
I was reminded of Mozart's Requiem and
also the movie Amadeus, where the anguish is emphasized
so well with the music in the background.

Thanks for the reference: it is magnificent. On my 'favorites".
I received a CD of Sting singing and playing Dowland and am still trying to decide if I like it.

Dowland Sting

They are both very nice, thank you for the two of them.
