Kakemono n : a Japanese (paper or silk) wall hanging ... Somehow I could have lived
happily without learning this word. Again I think it a lousy word to expect kids to know.

Well, it's nice knowing what a Japanese silk wall hanging is called.

And, besides, if you ever wanted to write a poem about Quasimodo (not sure of spelling here), you'd have a rhyming word.

Dear WW: would a khakimono be a suntan kimono?

...and then there's the frumpy housewife's garb, the Tackimono.
