I've recently become very interested in this game and have played a handful of games online. It has intrigued me since reading/hearing about the game in various media (e.g. 'Mr Nice' by Howard Marks; the film 'Pi').
I wondered whether any AWADers play it...

I have played Go. I'm not very good at it, but then who is (other than those who are)? I play go-moku which uses the same board and pieces and is the game serious go players play when they want to relax.
If chess is a battle, go is a war.
Go-moku is like tic-tac-toe only you're trying to get five in a row on a 19X19 board.
Have you seen the movie The Go Masters, by?

They are interrupted just after one of them makes a very provocative (in my own miserably informed opinion) move and do not meet again until well after the war. They are walking along on the Great Wall and the player whose turn it was names his next move and they're right back in the game.

I tried Go a few times, belligerent, but knew not what I was doing. I am also miserable at chess.
But now I wonder -- are there any bridge players here?

I do play Go (passively) and bridge (passably). do kids play bridge in college anymore? (ach... my senior year!)
