Most of you probably, like me, tend to at least scan anything there is to read, even if it's the back of the same cereal box you've looked at every morning for the past week. This morning my eye fell on the can of nuts that someone had left on the table. The lid boasted, "FRESHLY HARVESTED", which made me wonder: how else would you harvest anything?

I think it means they were utilized very soon after harvesting, as opposed to sitting in a bucket or box or truck for days.

Oops--I erred. The lid says Harvested Fresh--a slight but possibly significant difference. Why--or how--could anything be harvested not fresh?

Sounds like a recipe for ice wine, a version much favored by lovers of dessert wines.
