I was perusing AWADmail Issue 448. Sometimes I am quite slow. Could someone please explain this 'A THOUGHT FOR TODAY' to me?
What word has st in the middle, in the beginning, and the ending?
(Hint: It's an anagram for 'kind ants'.)

I found the word but still cannot make sense of it. Oh--wait. Never mind--I just got it. Geez! I'll go ahead and leave this here in case others may have interest.
I think I'll go have a little wine...

I know what YOU mean Jackie...I had the same problem,I was thinking...there is no word that starts with 'st' and has 'st' in the middle and 'st' at the end...so I wrote the anagram on paper and of course there is only x1 'st' and I worked it out from there.

Good for the brain, wasn't it grin

Inkstand? St in the middle "in" the beginning "and" the ending.
Thought for the day? Well it made you think, didn't it?
Eta: I let the answer out, because if I took so long over it everyone else must have got it by now.

I still think of eta as being short for etaoin, a.k.a. buffalo shrdlu - but you seem to be using it as an abbrev. for something else, which I can't fathom because of seeing it as etaoin!
please advise.
