Mr. Arnold tells us that the meaning of culture is “to know the
best that has been thought and said in the world.”

Could quantity (or lack of it) be more valuable than quality... in this case?

If a culture of one is as valuable as the culture of multi-millions (which I'm *inclined to believe), as the last surviving speakers of a language are the only representation of that form of culture even the way one referrs to "taking a nap" becomes significant in its immediacy.

Dear musick: You talk like a philosopher, meaning you snow me. The Mattjew Arnold quote
spoke of the best of thought. The Klingons have a culture, but not one to be admired.

Although I'm not sure what "snowing" you is, I'd imagine it is something like a combination of what I would call "white washing" + "playing devils advocate" + "pulling your leg"... but I assure you none of the above was my intention. (not like I'm not predisposed to *them...)

*Having value* and *being admired* are clearly two different things, as was why I chose the simple words/meaning "taking a nap" as an example instead of a more *philosophical comment.
