Prolepsis (Noun)

Pronunciation: [pro-'lep-sis]

Definition 1: Today's word is about bringing the future into the present not with technology but through language. "Prolepsis" means: (1) the presentation of a future potentiality as an accomplished fact, (2) a response to criticism in advance of hearing it, and (3) placing a redundant descriptive phrase, that refers to a term in the middle of the sentence, at the head of the sentence.r

Resile (Verb)

Pronunciation: [ree-'zIl]

Definition 1: Retract to an original position; draw back from or withdraw after having second thoughts.

Usage 1: The adjective from today's word, "resilient" [ri-'zil-yênt] and the noun, "resiliency," are far more widely used than their long-lost father, today's word itself. Yet this verb remains a vibrant member of the English lexical cast, still performing in some English-speaking regions. Rubber bands are resilient because they resile after being stretched. Humans tend to resile from disruptive tragedies.

Nephelococcygia (Noun)

Pronunciation: [ne-fê-lê-kak-'si-jee-yê ]

Vindemiate (Verb)

In reply to:

velarize

Seeing the velarize made me begn to hear an old song I haven't heard in a long time. I have no idea what the real words were, but the monkey tells me they were:

"Velaray! Oh-oh!
Consuah-lay! Oh-oh-oh-oh!
?????????????????????
???????????????
???????????????
Velaray! Oh-oh!
Consuah-lay! Oh-oh-oh-oh!"

Can someone puh-lease unscramble this musical riddle that the damned monkey in my brain is grinning about?

Thanks, Faldage. Google provided this:

"Sometimes the world is a valley of heartaches and tears
and in the hustle and bustle of sunshine appears
but you and I have a love always there to remind us
there is a way we can leave all the shadows behind us

VOLARE OHO CANTARE OHOHOHO
LET'S FLY WAY UP TO THE CLOUDS
AWAY FROM THE NOISENING CROWDS
WE CAN SING IN THE GLOW OF A STAR THAT I KNOW
ALL WE LOVERS ENJOY PEACE OF MIND
LET US LEAVE IN CONFUSION AND ALL DISSILUSION BEHIND
JUST LIKE BIRDS ON A WIRE AND THE RAINBOW TOGETHER WE'LLFIND

VOLARE OHO CANTARE OHOHOHO
NEL BLU DI PINTO DI BLU
FELICE DISTARE LASSU
E VOLAVO VOLAVO FELICE PIUN ALTO
E SOLE DANCORA DIL SU
NEN TIL MONDO PIAGIANO SPARIVO LONTANO LA GIU
UNA MUSICA GOCIA SONJAVO SOLTANTO PER ME

VOLARE OHO CANTARE OHOHOHO
NO WONDER MY HAPPY HEART SING
YOUR LOVE HAS GIVEN ME WINGS
NEL BLU DI PINTO DI BLU
FELICE DISTARE LASSU
NO WONDER MY HAPPY HEART SING
YOUR LOVE HAS GIVEN ME WINGS"

...by the Gypsy Kings? Wish Emanuela would translate the Italian...

*Edit Note: Sorry about all caps, but that's the way the lyrics appeared on the page I copied and I'm too lazy to go back and put in small town letters.
