I have been given to understand that this German word doesn't really have an English equivalent. I was told that It is used to distinguish talents (or education) in domains requiring creativity, performing skills etc. as opposed to analytical, mathematical or reasoning skills.
So--is there a word in English that's close?

"Artistic". For example in the phrases: musisches Talent "artistic talent", or musiches Zentrum "arts center".
Like the English words musical and museum, the original meaning had to do with related to the Muses (Greek goddesses).
Ceci n'est pas un seing.

Artistic is close but. Creative gift. Artistic talents.Creative education. Maybe you could say that someone who has artistic talents would choose a creative education? We have a subject in highschool that is called 'musische vorming' In Germany musische Bildung.
Quote: "Hat Ihr Kind ein kreativ-musisches Talent?"
