I know I know, I gave up visiting the Board ages ago and am a sadly lapsed AWADeer (no offence to you guys meant, by the way, it's just the way life turned out) but when this turned up in my email I was absolutely sure that lots of you would enjoy it. On a quick search I haven't found it on here - if it is hiding somewhere, my apologies for repetition:

Noah’s Marks

When Noah went to fill his ark
He brought aboard a ?
Also a pair of Portuguese

He thought it grand to have on hand
A : and an &
And when his wife spruced up the joint
She used an !

To guard against ennui at sea

A keg of beer, a cask of wine
Without a single $

He took along a dozen packets

No, it hasn't been here before, Honey--that was great! I agree completely with Max. And, thank you.

Wonderful to see you back, Bridget and now in sole possession of the name!

You may like this little ditty by John T. Baker too...

MY GAL SAL

She filled her formative decades,
When she was young and sleek,
With Middle Eastern escapades,
Dancing sheik to sheik.

Around the world she took a trip,
By way of Mozambique,
Aboard a slow, decrepit ship,
Advancing leak by leak.

Back home again she spends her days
With such a snobbish clique
In smart salons and posh cafes,
Prancing pique to pique.

Her entourage of sycophants
Inanely coo and shriek,
Critiquing art and fondling plants,
Glancing freak to freak.

And when she gets too old to roam,
When all her muscles squeak,
She'll titillate her nursing home,
Romancing creak to creak.

ROFL, mav. A futher verse just now composed, to follow your last:

Yet even in her antique stage
Men there give prospects bleak
And she will look ('mid men that age)
Askance from weak to weak.

The prodigal prodigy returns! Welcome home, Bridie.

And what a wonderful return, too - I loved that verse (even
though I had to think hard not to rhyme - with soda-syphon!)
