(1) Some disseminators of persiflage are called sockpuppets. However, I question this usage because some of them use only a single handle. Thus is the neologism undergoing some sort of shift or is it simply being used incorrectly

(2) Has anyone heard the expr "login" used to refer to a sockpuppet

Thanks all

I can understand the usage of "sockpuppet". It is light, playful, the antithesis of grave.
But, 'login' simply makes no sense.
To 'slide on' seems more appropriate to indicate the 'sockpuppet' is preparing to begin (perform).

Thanks, D for teaching me a new word. I had find the definition for 'persiflage'. I plan to use it repeatedly today (and annoy my coworkers!)

Park: Good for you. That was the reaction I had too

you can only be a sockpuppet if you have a main. if you think they have only one handle, you just don't know the rest of them.

I have never heard login used for sockpuppet, specifically. we all have logins, and some have sockpuppets.

a rectangle is not a square.
