Isn't the term reduplicative redundant? Aren't they just duplicatives since they are only doubled once? Reminds me of the use of "irregardless" when regardless is intended.
I've never heard "bling-bling" spoken, and I've only seen it written that way a few times. I've usually seen and heard it as "bling." Is this possibly regional? I live in the SF bay area. Or perhaps an example of a resingled reduplicative? A singlative?

I think bling-bling came first, and was then truncated. I say this from more than just guesswork, as I at one time had access to OneLook's "undefined words" database -- in response to which I added bling-bling to my own online dictionary. as indicated, the origin is
gangsta rap (or hip-hop slang).
