A Profile of Richard Lederer

Richard Lederer is the author of more than 2,000 books and articles about language and humor, including his bestselling Crazy English, and his current book, The Bride of Anguished English, a Book-of-the-Month Club selection. Dr. Lederer's syndicated column, "Looking at Language," appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States.

He has been elected International Punster of the Year and been profiled in magazines as diverse as The New Yorker, People, and the National Inquirer. He is language columnist for Writer's Digest, Pages, and the Farmers' Almanac. With Charles Harrington Elster, Richard Lederer hosts a radio show, "A Way With Words," on KPBS, San Diego, each Sunday. The two are co-Usage Editors of The Random House Dictionary of the English Language, 3e. Unabridged. Lederer also appears regularly on weekend "All Things Considered" on NPR. He makes his home on the Web at verbivore.com.
