OP Recently I was watching a cooking show featuring an Australian presenter. Since my father taught me that the "differently abled" are children of Allah, I won't mock her for suffering that cruel affliction. However, she did insist on pronouncing the name of Bush Sr.'s favourite vegetable "brocco-lie". My question is, was this just an individual quirk, or another example of the process by which English has devolved into Strine?
