OP Cartoons, I agree - Batman & Robin springs to mind!
Yes, I saw the French translation earlier today. I wonder if that 'fist' features an extended finger as the underdog overtakes the leader in said event!
Anyway, I have a feeling POING is representative of a type of word that people coin within a smaller community, (i.e. a group who play an unusual game at cards called BLOB?!) and which comes under close scrutiny once it reaches those outside the clique. Such an explanation is invariably moreso achievable through use of email/www and in the short term, will provide me with the temporary rest I need on the matter!
Talking of 'Blob', that is another question I must post! Fascinating game, one which I'm sure has several different names...
