Posts: 1289 Faldage, you are correct that the MARSH-mellows (only pronunciation I have ever heard) in the U.S. are like sweet gummy cotton balls*, or a smoothed-out spreadable version, as WOW notes. What, pray, are British marshmallows?
*They are made from sugar syrup whipped with gelatine.
