OP [From Latin post- (after) + prandium (meal). Ultimately from
Indo-European root ed- (to eat or to bite).
It's always a pleasure to see own native words, as relatives to other languages! In russian language (althou we call it - russkiy) there is a noun word - eda (food) with accent on 'a' (pronounced - 'ah',as in Oprah), and 'e' pronounced as in 'met'. Also a derivative from it, is a verb - est, with soft 't', means - to eat.
