Loc: Piedmont Region of Virginia, U... It struck me today while reading the fifth book of the Odyssey that the Greeks were awfully smart in referring to Poseidon as the mover of earthquakes--especially with all the reports about earthquakes causing tsunamis. The wave-quake connection, that is. When Odysseus is overpowered by a Poseidon-powered wave while trying to save himself on the beaches of the Phaecians, and Homer's writing all about Poseidon the mover of earthquakes, well, it's just damn impressive of Homer. Lots of earth knowledge there among those ancient ones.
