Here is another game: Song Titles. One of two variations is to post a song title and the next person posts the title of any song that has at least one word that the previous title had in it. As in:

Games People Play
(The Spinners)

People of the Sun
(Rage Against the Machine)

House of the Rising Sun
(The Animals)

Brick House
(Commodores)

The second variation is slightly harder, but more fun, if the consecutive titles "speak" to each other, forming quasi-sentences,
such as:

"The Candy Man"
(Sammy Davis Jr.)

"Can't Buy Me Love"
(The Beatles)

"When It's Over"
(Loverboy)

"Because"
(The Dave Clark Five)

"It's Over"
(Roy Orbison)

Juan, I don't know what's your problem. RR didn't say anything about what languages were or were not permitted. dxb and I were chugging along just fine till you and Faldage had to go mess it up.

So, in the name of keeping a thread going......I will start off with a brand new song.......

"I've Got a Brand New Pair of Rollerskates......."
Melanie Safka (who??)

Anyone interested in turning this into a "sentence" of song titles?? If so then I think the next song should be..............?

Wasn't it "I've got a brand-new wheel"? I've always had a "thing" for Melanie Safka. Duct tape would take care of the voice ...

TITLE: I've Got A Brand New Pair Of Roller Skates (You've Got A Brand New Key)

I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I rollerskated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm OK alone but you've got something I need

{Refrain}
I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You've got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and
Try them on to see
I been lookin around awhile
You got something for me
I got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key

I ride my bike, I rollerskate, I don't drive no car
Don't go too fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don't drive, I been all around the world
Some people say I done alright for a girl

I asked your mother if you were at home
She said yes, but that you weren't alone
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm OK alone but you got something I need

I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts

(sung by Danny Kaye)

Down at an english fair one evening I was there
When I heard a showman shouting underneath the flair

I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
There they are all standing in a row
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head
Give them a twist a flick of the wrist
That’s what the showman said
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands my wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball, roll a bowl a ball
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch

I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts (they’re lovely)
There they are all standing in a row (one, two, three, four)
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head (and bigger)
Give them a twist a flick of the wrist
That’s what the showman said
I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands my wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch (all together now)
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch (harmony)
Roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch
Roll a bowl a ball, roll a bowl a ball
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch

Thank you for keeping the record straight, eta! My checkmate! Mona(s) and Mony, indeed. however, there was Cat Stevens' tune, Sad Lisa, but nobody picked-up on it...and I think you have to use a different lyric the one already used...I think???

Melanie ... terrible singing voice, but looks to die for. Someone else, of course, not me.

Sorry, dxb, my memory for song titles is crap. Roller-skates it is.

P.S. What's a "flair" in this context? The boardwalk? the midway? why "underneath" ?

I've always assumed that the flair is the flaired roof of a tent or temporary booth.
