Posts: 13858 A word we all know, that has been used perhaps a dozen times. But todday I was surprised
to discover that it came from a Latin word meaning "to wet".
imbue
vt.
3bued$, 3bu4ing 5L imbuere, to wet, soak6
1 [Rare] to fill with moisture; saturate
2 to fill with color; dye; tinge
3 to permeate or inspire (with principles, ideas, emotions, etc.)
