Few people stand so far above his peers in the execution of musical skill with a particular instrument. Satchmo, with the trumpet. Benny Goodman with the clarinet. And Lionel Hampton with the xylophone, vibraphone, and drums. From one boy born in Birmingham, Alabama to another... Thank you Lionel for the pleasure that your music has given all of us. Rest easy.
