Posts: 2 Awesome! I'd like, if not to ban the use, certainly give it a long rest! I own up to being a Limey, but I am pro-Yank! So foregive me if I blame the USA for this lazy denigration of an important word.

Loc: R'lyeh Awesome!
This reminds me of an ancient episode of I Love Lucy where a elocutionist is brought in to teach the Mertzes and the Ricardos how to speak well. "Now there are two words which you must never utter: one is lousy and the other one is swell." Fred: "Well, tell the lousy one first."
As most of the folks who use awesome as an interjection almost never speak without a hint of irony. I cannot imagine that they would say this unironically. YMMV, doodz!_________________________
