Suzanne Gray stranger Registered: 06/17/10 Posts: 1 Loc: Guilford, Connecticut, USA	My very own daughter insists that it's pronounced as "pah-TEE-na." But all my life I've accented the first syllable. Others seem to agree with my daughter. What is the consensus among word lovers?

BranShea Carpal Tunnel Registered: 06/23/06 Posts: 5249 Loc: Netherlands, the Hague	Patina is PA-tee-na in Italy and Spain, in Holland and in Germany, but the French (:~)) have it their own way with pa-TI-ne. So this may have been of influence to the American way of pronunciation. Considering French immigrants in older days. ? Pa-TEE-na sounds like a girl's name to me.
