INCUNABULUM,
Daffynitions
a) A gland in the brain that secretes an enzyme that promotes long-term memory retention, so called from its resemblance to a rabbit's head with two long protrusions resembling the ears.
b) an avatar
c) From L. cunae 'cradle' and bulum, 'instrument'. A classical orchestra formed of child prodigies.
d) a mechanical device in a clockwork that maintains the swinging of the pendulum
e) A single character in ancient Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian, Babylonian, or Persian writing.
f) A book printed during the earliest period of typography (i.e., from the 1450s to 1501).
g) A shallow depression in shoreline rock that has been eroded away by wind and wave action.

I like D for plausibility.
But the deep recesses of my brain (such as they are) say the real answer is F. Early printed works. VERY early.
I vote for F. Honorable mention for D.
(Recall one and all that public analysis of choices is like as not designed as a bluff, to conceal and/or to mislead...)
