It's a variety of clam found on the northern US/Canadian Atlantic coast; similar to the quahog. Sometimes spelled with two Gs, as mummichogg

And they're either wrapped up or they don't speak, right?

Mum's the word, or they clammed up?

Such a shame that they're silent - the world could be their oyster ...

Hi all
I happen to know what it means.
My cousin in NJ introduced me to the word.
That's not much of a hint is it?

If you know the word, esteemed owl, then say it and you'll be the unique winner of a halfwash hog.

(I'd be happy if rhubrb cmmnder would give a serious hogwash, but it's best to be 10 in that game.)

Best before the first snow falls.

Don't know what stuwm is buzzing, but he seems to have lost his appetite for leading a round. So our hopes are for Rhubarb Commander?

Well, I am considerably more than 10! frown

I had three boarders promise almost immediatly that they would take part; so, ever the optimist, I have set up a Hogwash as "Rhuby's Hogwash."

Roll up! Roll up! Try your luck! Win a Kupie Doll for the little lady!
