I was reading this on the internet and it struck me as funny.

From the State Library in Queensland.....

"Chat with a real life cartoon character"

Its not as bad as I first thought. I know libraries are trying to keep up to date and foster interest any way they can, but promoting live chats with cartoon characters.....impossible I thought, but not really, as it turns out.

Life on the Wall

If it gets kids to read, or adults for that matter, then
I'm for it. Teaching high school, it was appalling how
many could not read when they reached that level. A real
failure somewhere in the system.

I could not agree more, but not being a parent, I did not
want to offend anyone, but you said it, and I agree.

There has been quite a lot in our newspaper in recent weeks about our poor level of education; here in Louisville, I mean. New school board members have been elected, schools are being inspected by state officials, and the Superintendent's contract is not being renewed. Most of it has been along the lines of Whose Fault Is It.
I know *I* would not want to be a teacher!!! [horrors e]
