Loc: Land of the Flat Water I have a bunch of wild pets eating me out of house and home.
With the cold and the snow, the pets at the bird feeders,
including rabbits and squirrels are amassing in greater
numbers than usual. Only a few minutes ago I noticed the
wild turkeys are back: eight of them. I would not mind
them so much, but they leave a slick behind them worse
than the ice. Definitely not pet material._________________________

Loc: Middle Earth plucking...my neighbour goes beating every weekend and gets a free shoot every so often - he is a brilliant shot and they have a freezer full of pheasants and has some hanging up outside (which is like a giant freezer at the moment!) every so often they have a pheasant party and everyone on our lane goes over to eat up a load of their pheasants..._________________________

Loc: Land of the Flat Water Yes, giant freezer outside.
That is the only benefit of the weather. Something usually
bursts or explodes or leaks in my chest freezer, and during
this season I can take the food out, defrost and clean
the freezer, and replace the food.
Turkey plucking would not be my thing. Guess I'd not make
much of a pioneer.....living off the land._________________________
