link Here vestigal is refered to as vestigal organs, though in the article vestigial is said to be the usual term. On from here:

I'm a biologist & have used and read 'vestigal' often for 20+ yrs. I didn't realize it's jargon. I guess I'll consider it a vestigal word from now on. blush

Coming to my own defense is so (v to n) inelegant.
