I do believe this is a first; for one thread to last this long, that is. I'll PM Ms. CB.

Loc: Netherlands, the Hague It might be on Wordsmith Talk, in general I guess not. But we got it ( with a little smuggling act; administrator) down from that 11-letter word back to the starting point.
Evaluating: I found 5-to-8-letter words the most interesting to play with. Like Wofahu said: too many letters freeze the game. I like the sort of parallel 'communication' that went on through the game. It was fun. I'm not to decide; maybe some people want to start another thread or continue on this one. It's been fun to me.

Loc: Worcester, MA Let's think for a moment before we decide whether to start a BRAND-new thread or to continue this one.
In the past some have noted that with a dial-up connection it takes a very long time to load a long thread...perhaps too long.
Others have pre-emptively started a new thread whenever the instant one reached 500 posts.
Before we proceed, is there consensus? Should we take a poll?

Loc: Netherlands, the Hague A poll could show if 'regulars' are still interested. A technical motive for keeping the thread-length shorter counts. So a poll I guess....?? BRAND still the valid word?

You'll probably find that only applies in threaded mode.

well, in the past some have voiced a strong preference for threaded mode -- but they're probably long gone from this thread!

Loc: Louisville, Kentucky I don't play much, but I'd vote for starting a (brand) new thread. (Nice one, wofa!)

Loc: Netherlands, the Hague I've played many too many but would vote for a new thread and a restriction on the maximum number of letters and posts. 200? I should play less (but wordgames are very tempting ..)I did like the circle, getting back to the starting word.
